An estimated 1.4 billion adults aged 30 to 79 had hypertension in 2024, about a third of that age group. Only around 630 million (44%) are diagnosed and treated, and around 320 million (23%) have their blood pressure under control. The gap between diagnosis and control is where strokes and kidney failure come from. Check BP at every visit.
