Multi-cancer early detection (MCED) tests aim to identify signals associated with several cancer types from a blood sample, often using circulating tumour DNA.

The technology is promising, but important questions remain:

🔬 Can it detect early-stage cancers reliably?

🔬 What happens when a positive result cannot be linked to a tumour?

🔬 Will earlier detection actually reduce cancer-related mortality?

Clinical Debate: Should MCED testing become part of routine screening for asymptomatic adults, or do we need stronger evidence first?
