About 50 million people worldwide have epilepsy, and nearly 80% live in low- and middle-income countries. WHO says up to 70% could live seizure-free if properly diagnosed and treated, yet about three quarters of people in low-income countries don’t get the treatment they need. People with epilepsy have up to three times the risk of premature death, and stigma still delays care. Early diagnosis and a consistent treatment plan matter most.
